Rapper T.I. Appears On Larry King: Has Jail Changed T.I?

This past week Rapper T.I. did his first Interview on CNN’s Larry King Live since being released from jail in December 2009. Many of T.I’s fans tuned into see if jail changed T.I. and what he has in store for the future.

In 2009, T.I was sentenced to serve a year and a day in jail, this comes after officials discovered that he had given his body guard $12,000 to purchase illegal firearms. CNN reported that the rapper was not allowed to have firearms because of a 1998 felony convictions of drug possession.

This won’t be the first time we see rap artists go to jail and serve time, but do many learn lessons from the crime committed and the time served? In the last decade we have seen very popular rappers go to jail, Lil’Kim, Gucci Mane, Foxy Brown and Lil Wayne who was recently incarcerated for weapon possession.

Many fans tweeted about the rapper’s future as well commended him on how poised and intelligent he appeared as he interviewed with Larry King.

The re-screening of the interview was shown again on Saturday and fans who tuned in for various reasons may have ponder the thought, has jail changed T.I?

T.I. tells Larry King that his reason for having firearm was due to feelings of his life being in danger and also says he evolved from the situation.

It is apparent that jail has changed T.I. the aggreator site Sfgate quoted the rapper saying “I am not in any way trying to excuse my behavior because it’s unacceptable, and I do realize right now that that was very, very poor judgment on my behalf.”

In the interview T.I. admitted his time served in prison helped clear his mind of negative thoughts and he is no longer in fear of attempts on his life.
